Betty Linton, Masters Degree in Special Education, Georgia Network of Education and Therapeutic Services at Horizon Academy, Lowndes County School System, Valdosta, Georgia

Betty Linton has been in the field of education for 25 years.  She received her graduate and master's degree from Mississippi State University in the area of  Special Education.  She taught for Meridian Public Schools in Meridian, Mississippi for 15 years prior to relocating to the Valdosta, Georgia area.  While in Mississippi, Ms Linton taught individuals with developmental disabilities and autism in grades preschool through 12th grade.  Ms Linton also worked with the Mississippi Department of Health part time for 5 years serving infants and toddlers with disabilities through the First Steps Early Intervention Program.  Ms Linton was also a part time  adjunct instructor for the Department of Education at Mississippi State University for 10 years.  After relocating to Valdosta in 2003, Ms Linton began teaching for the Georgia Network of Education and Therapeutic Services at Horizon Academy.  She currently works with students with emotional and behavior disorders and autism in grades preschool through 3rd grade.  Ms. Linton also taught as a part time adjunct instructor for Valdosta State University and Wiregrass Technical College.  Ms Linton has presented at various conferences including 2012 Georgia Council of Exceptional Children and the 2012 Institute Designed for Educating All Students.
